Audience Manager Glossary

Audience – is a set of profiles that meets certain criteria. For example Prospects from Germany that use mobile devices.

Audience Size – this is the amount of profiles that meets the given criteria. It’s shown as well as a percentage of your whole Visitors. The counter is being refreshed every 15 minutes.

Audience ID – it’s the unique identificator of the Audience visible right under its name.

Conditions – after creating a new Audience you need to set up criteria to differentiate it. Just drop an item from the list on the right and drop it in the conditions field.

Profile – represents a single person or customer interacting with your brand. We combine all the data about this customer into Single Customer View.

Profile Browser – it’s the place in Audience Manager where you can find a given profile and see what data it includes.

Attributes – data captured from forms, CSV files, custom variables and dimensions defined in Analytics app and later from mobile apps, S2S integration, custom JS API (these fields are fully customizable).

Analytics attribute – attribute generated from value provided by Analytics (e.g. browser and device data, location data, etc.).

Attribute whitelist – list of user attributes that are publicly available via Audience Manager get attribute API. To access this information it’s necessary to provide analytics ID.

Non-Blank – it’s the term used in the Attribute. It stands for the number (and percentage) of profiles that do have this particular Attribute filled.

Unique Values – it’s the term used in the Attribute. It stands for the number of profiles that do have some unique value in the selected Attribute.

Most Common – it’s the term used in the Attribute. It stands for the most common fields percentage in a given Attribute.

Application – website or application tracked by PPMS.

App ID – Piwik PRO Marketing Suite application identificator.

User – visitor on tracked application.

Analytics ID – ID assigned to the user by Analytics for the duration of Analytics session. It’s stored in the browser cookie.

User ID – permanent ID assigned to user by application (e.g. username).

Device ID – device ID (device identification) is a distinctive number associated with a smartphone or similar handheld device. Device IDs are separate from hardware serial numbers.

Identifier – unique user ID (e.g. analytics ID, user ID, device ID or email).

Visit – period of continuous user activity on application.

PII – Personally Identifiable Information.
