Trigger – on Page View
By default, Trigger on Page View fires a tag on any page view, but you can add various conditions if need.
You can also choose the state on which a tag needs to be triggered (page view; DOM ready; page load).
You can choose from the following conditions:
Fire on page view when visiting page with proper URL.
E.g. fire a tag for all https://piwik.pro/contact/ visitors.
Fire on page view when visiting page with proper page path. Contains an initial ‘/’ followed by the path of the URL
E.g. Fire a tag on all visitors who visit pages with path which contains: /contact/
Fire on page view when visiting a website with proper hostname.
E.g. fire a tag for all piwik.pro visitors.
Fire on page view if a visitor came straight from page with defined URL.
E.g. fire a tag for all a visitors who arrived here from page with https://piwik.pro/contact/ URL
Fire on page view if a visitor came to my website from website with chosen domain URL. This parameter is being ‘remembered’ during whole visitor’s session.
E.g. Fire a tag on page view if a visitor came from google.com
Fire on page view if a visitor came to my website from my chosen campaign (base on utm_campaign parameter.
Fire on page view based on referrer type. There are five options to choose:
Fire on page view for a new visitor or a returning one. It’s based on Piwik PRO Tag Manager cookie.
Variables added in the Variables Section
You can create your own variables and make them triggers as well.
You can add many conditions to one trigger. All of the conditions must be met in order to fire a tag.
Please note that synchronous tags are compatible only with the “Page view” trigger.
You are not able to fire synchronous tags with “Click”, ”Sending form”, and “Event” triggers.
If the trigger is assigned to one of synchronous tags, all trigger types (except Page view) won’t be available until the trigger is unassigned from all synchronous tags.
In “Page view” trigger type you can define multiplicity. There are 3 available options:
