How can I track anchor elements (#)?

By default, Piwik PRO collects full page URLs, including anchors (#) such as clearbank.com/product-tour#first-step. But if you want, you can easily turn it off.

For a website or app

Available from version 16.0.0. For versions below 16.0.0, go to Menu > Administration > Websites & apps > Settings > Keep page URL fragments when tracking.

To stop tracking anchor elements (#), follow these steps:

1. Go to Menu > Administration.
2. Navigate to Sites & apps.
3. On the left, select the site or app you want to work with.
4. Navigate to Data collection > Page URLs.
5. Turn off Keep page URL fragments when tracking. 

   

6. Done!

For the entire account

To stop tracking anchor elements (#), follow these steps:

1. Go to Menu > Settings.
2. Navigate to Data collection > Page URLs.
3. Turn off Keep page URL fragments when tracking.
