Schedule or pause an email report

Analytics new Available from version 12.0.0

Each report and custom report can be sent to you and your teammates and clients by email on a regular basis. You can choose delivery dates and send one or more reports periodically.

In this article, we’ll show you how to schedule or pause a regular email report.

To schedule an email report, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Menu > Analytics (new).
  2. Navigate to Settings.
  3. On the left, click Scheduled reports.
  4. Click Add new scheduled report.
  5. Add new scheduled report in Piwik PRO.
  6. You can also skip steps 1-4. In a core report or a custom report, click a three-dot icon and click Create new scheduled report.
  7. Create a new scheduled report in Piwik PRO.
  8. Name the scheduled report.
  9. Optionally, add a message that will be sent with the report.

  11. In Settings, select Format and Orientation of the report. The report is saved in a PDF file and sent as an attachment to the email.

  13. Optionally, set the following elements in Settings:
    • Hide date range and segment information: The report won’t show data about the applied date range and segment.
    • Hide filter information: The report won’t show data about the applied filter.
    • Choose segment and Compare with another segment.
    • Compare date range to previous period.
    • Set row limit: You can set the number of rows that you want to see in the report.

  14. In Schedule, select:
    • Expiration date: The report won’t be sent after this date. It will be automatically paused.
    • Frequency: You can choose to receive a monthly, weekly, or daily report.
    • Period: In a monthly report, you can choose to have the report show data from the last month or the last 30 days. In a weekly report, you can choose to have the report show data from the last week or the last 7 days.
    • Day of a month or Day of a week: You can choose the delivery date.

  15. In Report selection, select the type and name of the report and click Add.
    • Type: You can choose a report or custom report.
    • Name: On the list, you’ll find all core reports (with sections like Channels: Source / medium) and all custom reports.

    Tip: If listed reports don’t suit you, create a custom report, and it will appear on the list.

  16. Optionally, add more reports to the scheduled report. All of these reports will be combined in one PDF file.
  17. In Recipients, add emails of people who you want to send the scheduled report to.

  19. When you’re done, click Save.
  20. Your new scheduled report will appear on the list.

  22. After scheduling your email report, you may want to try it out. Click a three-dot icon next to the scheduled report and select: Send to me now or Send to all now.

Note: The scheduled report sent on demand will have data only for the available period. For example, a monthly report sent on demand in the middle of the month will have data only for half of the month.

Pause a scheduled report

To pause a scheduled report, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Menu > Analytics (new).
  2. Navigate to Settings.
  3. On the left, click Scheduled reports.
  4. Pick the scheduled report you want to work with.
  5. On the right, click a three-dot icon.
  6. Click Pause scheduled report.

Edit, copy, or delete a scheduled report

To edit, copy, or delete a scheduled report, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Menu > Analytics (new).
  2. Navigate to Settings.
  3. On the left, click Scheduled reports.
  4. Pick the scheduled report you want to work with.
  5. On the right, click a three-dot icon.
  6. Click Edit scheduled report, Copy scheduled report, or Delete scheduled report.
