You can customize each core report in Analytics to see your data the way you want to. The customized report will appear in custom reports, and the original core version won’t be changed.
In this article, we’ll show you how to customize a core report.
Before you start
Here are some things to know before you start customizing a report:
- After you customize a report, it will be displayed in custom reports under Menu > Analytics > Custom reports.
- You can customize all core reports except the audience overview and visitor log report.
To customize the report, follow these steps:
- Go to Menu > Analytics.
- Navigate to Reports.
- On the left, select a report you want to work with.
- In the upper right corner click Customize.
- Adjust the report just like you would while working with a custom report — change a report name, add or remove dimensions, add or remove metrics, set default sorting options or apply filters.

- When you’re done, click Create report.
- The customized report will appear among other custom reports.
To access a customized report, follow these steps:
- Go to Menu > Analytics.
- Navigate to Custom reports.
- On the left, click the customized report that you want to work with.
