Notes let you mark advertising campaigns, site changes, public holidays or other events that caused spikes or drops in traffic. You can add notes to dates in reports and include them in your scheduled reports and alerts.
To add a note, follow these steps:
- Go to Menu > Analytics.
- You’ll find notes at the top of Dashboards, Reports, Custom reports, Goals or Ecommerce.
- Click Notes.
- Click Add a note.
- Choose a date and write your note.
- In Visibility, choose: Author or All users.
- Click Add a note.
- Done. You can now see your note for the selected day.
Note: You’ll see notes on the list only for the selected date range. You’ll also find on the list system notes. These are messages sent from us. We post them when something that impacts traffic happens.
- Your note will also be marked on the chart with a dot.
- To hide notes, click Notes again.
Edit or delete notes
To edit or delete a note, follow these steps:
- Go to Menu > Analytics.
- You’ll find notes at the top of Dashboards, Reports, Custom reports, Goals or Ecommerce.
- Click Notes.
- Click the three-dot icon next to the note you want to edit or delete.
- Click Edit or Delete.
