In this chapter, we’ll show you a handful of built-in tags that you should be aware of. You may need them at some point in your relationship with Tag Manager, so here they are:
- Piwik PRO tag (tracking code): This tag holds your tracking code. It collects data and sends it to Analytics. When you install our container on your site or app, the Piwik PRO tag automatically appears on your tag list and fires on every page view. Read more

- Popup tag: You can use this tag to display popups on your site or app. You need to have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS to design the popup, but setting it up is easy. You can collect data about interactions with popups by turning this setting on: Tag Manager > Tags > Piwik PRO > Interactions with popups and content (on). Read more

- Custom content tag: You can use this tag to add contextual ads on your site or app. You need to have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS to design the contextual ad (the content), but setting it up is easy. - Custom dimension tag: You can use this tag to collect data for a custom dimension. It is usually used for a session custom dimension. Read more

- Goal conversion tag: You can use this tag to collect data for goals. It’s used when tracking goals with standard methods is impossible. Read more

- Virtual page view tag: You can use this tag to create virtual pages. The virtual page is not real, but it appears in reports as a real page – it has a page URL and page title. This tag is often used to track single-page applications. Read more

- Third-party tags: You can use built-in tags to install third-party tools like Google Ads, Meta pixel, LinkedIn and more.
